SKY HIGH at 13,000 ft

So... Last Friday Matt, Trever and I drove down to Lompoc for a 13,000ft Tandem Skydive!! and it was absolutely Incredible!! most awesome adrenline rush ever. It was Matt and my first Jump, and the sweetest 60 seconds ever!! flying the chute around was a blast too! Just turning in with the chute deployed you can pull some serious G's!! my guess would be around 1.2-1.5 G's. and the jolt of the chute was pretty sweet too probably like and instant 3 or 4 G's..

anyway... I am definitely going again one day and would recommend teh expereince to everyone!!

650sx madian voyage

Yesterday...was an awesome day..

well it would have been better if I had actually gotten to see my mom since it was her birthday, but don't worry i did call her twice.

first siphoned all the old Gas out of the 650sx, put in some brand new 91 octane and 12oz of Carburetor cleaner, fired her up and BAM!! she ran.. well she had been running on the bad gas, just not very well. with her all strapped up on the brand new carrier I headed over to heritage and got all my stickers i needed, then headed to the launch ramp. Launching her was a piece o' cake with my new hitch carrier. No help required, : ) . pulling the ranger out of the water was easy too, just put it in 4x4, and the tires grabbed traction no problem.

With her in the water, I Rode her over across the lake to the Public marina. Parked her on the beach and went up to my restaurant to see Charlie on his third day of work there. Charlie poured me a very generous mimosa, and then i had some pancakes and watched What I Like About You...yep it was a pretty perfect day...

Then it was back on the Ski, back to the launch ramp, Back across the lake, Back in with the Ranger to pick up the ski, 2 mins later haul up the ski, turn off 4x4, and off to shower and then to work.

Work wasn't bad. had a few needy tables but at least they tipped decent.

Not a Bad July 26th, lol

Dogs on a boat!

Got to introduce to family puppies (well not actually puppies) to the water for the first time in their lives last week.

First, my cousin brought his chocolate lab Page to lake, and that was a lot of fun. First time Mooring the boat and got to let her run around on the beach and learn to swim in the lake. she was quite hillarious, she looked like an overgrown sea-otter, with just her face popping out of the water. Can't wait to get a retriver of my own.

Then, last Saturday, my Sister and Bro-in-law came up with their puppy, Hanky, a little shealtie. they had one of those super dog life vests with a dozen straps and even a pillow to prevent their head from falling in the water. (kinda like the baby life vest have behind the head.) Hanky did not fancy swimming as much as Page. He never even attempted to actually 'swim'. Instead he just let the life vest do the work, and he would just float their, not moving a single leg. haha.

Family Fun

Had my mom and aunt up here for the weekend which was fun. literally had the boat out four times this week. wakeboarding twice with some new friends and old. then had my cousin up for a night and took his awesome chocolate lab, Page swimming for the first time. She was really fun and looks like a sea otter when she swims. then took my mom and aunt over to running deer, across the lake, to see even more family. it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately i've had night shifts for the past four nights, but hey i still cant complain too much. Charlie made some bomb shrimp pasta last night and between the four of us, we went through 2 bottles of Riesling.

charged the battery for the 650sx yesterday, now got to fiddle with the carburetor until i can get it to idle smoothly. Kudos

jet ski Carrier 90% done

after a few days of work, my 650sx jetski trailer is nearly complete
all i have left is a few screws and bolts to drill in and then i can get someone to help me lift the ski on to the rack

according to my 'calculations' it should hold the 350 lbs ski no problem assuming the center of mass is located fairly close over the main steel beam. this emlimates torsion for all you non engineers and makes the only stress in the beam a bending normal stress..

here are some of the before and after pictures of the rack/carrier/trailer..thingy..

<-- what it started as
